Over the past 9 years, the Aurora Thunder have become one of the most recognized programs in the State of Illinois and the Midwest region.  Through the hard work and dedication of our players, coaches, families, sponsors and volunteers - we are making a difference in our community.  We have many former collegiate players coaching in our program and teaching lessons throughout the year.  All of our high school aged elite teams have played in premier college showcase events throughout the Midwest, which provides opportunities for our kids to get seen by as many college coaches as possible.  Over the past two years, we have seen more than twenty-five of our kids go on to play college baseball.  We look to continue that momentum each and every year.

COACHES WANTED - Fall 2019/Summer 2020

Aurora Travel Baseball is seeking qualified high school assistant coaches for 2020 season at (17U/18U) and youth travel assistant baseball  coaches (12, 13U and 14U) for the 2020 spring/summer season. These are part-time positions at each age group, which will conclude upon the completion of the 2019 summer season.  This position will begin in August 2019 with potential weekly practices and fall baseball games in advance of preparing for winter workouts starting in winter 2019 and will continue into the spring and summer season, wrapping up in mid to late July 2020.

Our program consists of non-parent coaching if possible and strives to prepare our kids to play at the next level.  Our younger teams will focus on player development and building the bridge to the next year, while playing in very competitive tournaments.  Our goals for our high school teams (15u - 18u) will be to participate in a number of top national collegiate showcase tournaments, which will provide access to numerous college coaches and some scouts at most games/tournaments.

Responsibilities include on-field coaching, pregame preparation, practice organization, mentoring players, and day to day communication with players, parents, college coaches and scouts (at the high school level).

We are seeking candidates that have previous coaching or playing experience at the high school, college, or professional level. The candidate must have strong communication skills and knowledge in the game of baseball.

At the high school level, the candidate must be able to communicate to college coaches and scouts regarding the skill set and abilities of players. Further, the candidate must have schedule flexibility throughout the summer, as we play a very competitive schedule throughout the Midwest.

If you are interested in this position please send a resume to mattg@auroratravelbaseball.org, or call Matt at (630) 258-2894.
